Over the past 6 years, I’ve shared some deeply vulnerable experiences with you and the Authentic Selling® Community. There is always a risk when you decide to let people in and share parts of yourself that you keep tucked away. It’s a feeling of being exposed for everyone to see. But on the other side of that feeling of vulnerability there can also be wisdom, enlightenment and acceptance.
Today we continue our month of gratitude and in order to do that I need to share the single moment that I almost allowed myself to walk away from this business.
I’m not proud of it. It was not my finest moment. And my stomach feels queasy as I think about it now. In spite of that, I believe in my entire body that it’s my obligation to share not only the wonderful parts of being the boss, but the challenging ones. The ones that rock us to our core and cause us to question everything about ourselves.
I share this not to scare you, not to keep you from stepping up to be the leader you are meant to be, but to offer you hope when you want to walk away or when someone treats you more than unfairly. It’s taken me two years to open up about this and I’m doing it today right here.
