Coaching Toward Consistency

Kendrick Shope - CoachingWhen I start out with a new coaching client, the first thing I ask them is what business values are the most critical to them. This is an important question because successful businesses are built on values. If you have no values, chances are you have no business.

Think of the values of your business as the lumber that supports the house, structure and framework (of course I would use this analogy…I used to sell building materials!). Without these materials, your business would crumble.

There is one value that to me is the most important. What do you think it is?

Consistency.

This is so important because being consistent establishes trust between you and your prospects and customers. It illustrates that you are reliable, that you show up, that you are there.  And remember, people buy from people they trust.

Let me throw out a couple of examples. Business coach Jenny Shih writes a blog post every Wednesday morning. Each and every Wednesday, I know that her blog will be in my inbox like clockwork. I come to expect it, and I love it.

As another example, Marie Forleo posts her weekly v-blog, Marie-TV, every Tuesday morning, so every Tuesday around 10 a.m. central time, I watch Marie-TV.

Is it coincidence or consistency?

It is no coincidence that I anticipate and read/watch these two blogs every week. And you know what else, it is no coincidence that these two women – who are consistent in what they do – are at the top of their fields.

So how can you be consistent in your business? Here are some of the ways we are doing it:

  • Our blog, Soul Food, goes out at the same time every Tuesday. No.Matter.What
  • We strive to exceed our customers’ expectations with every interaction.
  • We deliver the best products and services to not only help you find your comfort level with sales, and transform your business, but also become a raving fan of ours so you’ll tell others about our services.
  • We believe in giving away quality stuff for free. We want to give back, and this blog is one example. Here, you’ll find oodles of tips and strategies that, if applied, will increase your sales. We do this to make a difference in your business, life and dreams.

Develop a plan and stay consistent.

I cannot stress this enough. You must have a plan, and you must stay consistent if you want to close more consults, get more clients and make more money. So, what are you going to do to stay consistent in your business?
